Description
The Keeki Bag is a natural way to store your bread. It is a beeswax lined linen bag. The outside dimensions of the bag are 11”x14”. Large enough to comfortably fit a 1000g boule of bread. With a wide opening and closing drawstring, it is easier to use that a flat beeswax wrap. It allows the bread to breath unlike a plastic bag, it will not hold a lot of moisture in and encourage mold. The natural antibacterial property of beeswax will help to deter mold but will not prevent it from occurring at all. Always monitor the contents of the bag for any signs of mold growth.
Artisan bread touches all of the senses. Bakers who create bread appreciate the work of art by the look of the golden crust, the sound of the crackling crust, the softness of the crumb, the beautiful smell of it greasy out of the oven and of course the taste.
After the time, effort and love to create a loaf of bread…don’t let it dry out!! Keep it fresh for longer using the KEEKI BAG.
Keeki – Hints & Tips '
When you first receive your KEEKI BAG it will seem stiff. It is normal and as you use it, the beeswax will soften. It does not impact the effectiveness.
Use different colored bags for different types of contents. Try buns, bread, fruit in the various colors for example.
When you put a cut loaf of bread with the crumb exposed, put the cut end against the beeswax, draw the string and wrap any excess bag around the contents. Try to reduce any excess air in the bag to increase effectiveness.
To keep clean we recommend that you shake out any loose crumbs and wipe the interior with a cool damp cloth. If you need to wash the entire bag, hand wash with a mild soap in cold water and hand to dry. Avoid using hot water.
The beeswax will deter mold but not prevent it from occurring at all. You must regularly check contents for food safety.
You can put the bag and contents in a refrigerator but not a freezer.
